Sad to say, im one of the victims!
Was supposed to catch a movie on Jan 6 @ 9:40pm, but since it was still early, we decided to go to the arcade to play a few games.
Upon arrival at the arcade, we noticed that it was pretty quiet and thought it was pretty normal since it was a weekday! Service was bad, we have been standing at the counter waiting for the staff to exchange the coins for us, for 5 mins. Then came a chinese-short-not handsome-golden hair-young-ah-beng in black sweater, holding on to some small boxes in his hand, walking towards our direction, and i thought he was a staff. But when he walked away after seeing us, then i realised he probably wasnt a staff. Minutes later, Ah beng and one auntie (in uniform) were chit chattingand walking towards our direction, but before he reach us, he walked away and Auntie came to assist us. And for a moment i thought, wa this chap not bad huh, still help to get the Auntie to come and assist us.
So then, me and Dan happily played our Bishi Bashi and Sis just sat at one of the Daytona seats (The Daytona was just beside the Bishi Bashi machine, less than a metre away!) watching us play. Throughout the game, i have been looking back for many times and realised that this ah beng has been standing behind us (approx. 100m) watching us play — and i thought he loved this game too. So i didnt suspect anything.
After the Bishi Bashi, we continued with Daytona, with sis sitting nearest to the Bishi Bashi Machine, followed by Dan and Jeff, and lastly me. Sis then left both her bag and mine on the floor next to her. Played 2 games in total and it was so exciting, but the most exciting part has yet to come!
Just as we were about to leave the arcade after the game of Daytona, my sis told me my bag was gone!!! We then searched for suspicious suspects around the arcade (since it was like a dead town) but we couldn’t see any. And at this point in time, my sis thought of the ah beng! She, too saw this ah beng watching us played the Bishi Bashi for a long time!
We then proceeded to the counter and questioned the Auntie (staff) if she had seen the Ah beng and her reply to us was, she don’t know the boy. But the thing is, this is rather IMPOSSIBLE as we saw her chit chatting with him! My sis then tried to describe the boy to her saying that he was holding on to some boxes. And guess what, the auntie then showed us the boxes on her counter table asking if that was what my sis saw! And yes, it was! Auntie obviously knows that boy but just wanna cover up for him. Knn X 10 to power of 10!!!!!
We then asked the auntie for the boy’s name but she says she dont know! Left with no choice, we threatened to contact her Manager and the police as well. Then Auntie said “I really dont know his name, but he was a regular patron there and usually comes on weekdays evening”. Kaoz, she even knows his schedule! Something is just Not RIGHT!
We then proceeded to the Security office at Marina square and seeked their help. We walked through the arcade and spotted only 2 camerasin the whole damn place, one at the entrance near the cashier/counter, 1 in between the bishi bashi and Daytona machines.
We also noticed that there is this back exit which leads to a stairway and that eventually leads to the area infront of John Little – and there are totally no cameras at all!According to the security officers, they say that this has happened many times and I also see notices at the front door of the arcade stating “Beware of pickpockets”.

See the difference in standards!? A high tech camera shooting over their own property, and there is just one bloody antique camera shooting at one particular corner of the arcade. Since there has been many pickpocket cases, why arent the management doing something about it ? Why arent they installing more cameras within the premises, including the back exit! Why aren’t they protecting us when we actually contribute to their profits!!!

4. W980 Phone – I bough this in Sep 08!
5. IC -This is the 3rd time i lost it. & the worst thing is, ive just got my replacement in November 08!
6. My driving license – Just got it in July 08!

1. Curse this PCB, never will you get a job with more than 1K salary and i meant gross salary!
