Am glad this is 50% over, at least the scary part of removing the nerve is over! Am waiting for filling and crowning 2 weeks later.
Removed the nerves on Tuesday!
And suprisingly, its pretty “painless”!
Root canal treatment is a procedure that removes the diseased pulp and clears the tooth of infection. This will take away or prevent pain and swelling caused by a bad tooth. On completion of the treatment, the tooth can still be used for biting and chewing.
The basic steps are as follows:
Any decay in the tooth is first removed. An opening is then made in the crown of the tooth to the pulp chamber and root canals.
The diseased pulp is removed and the root canals are cleaned and shaped.
The root canals are filled with an inert dental material. The access opening is covered with a permanent filling and often a crown is placed over the tooth.
After this treatment, i am few hundreds poorer!
